Just had a look and the 1977 Ti, it has plastic outer cam belt covers screwed to the tin inners. Just the same as my 'I'll get it finished one day' 1989 1.7 Sprint Veloce. I was told that on the early cars it was found that small stones could bounce up into the engine compartment and get caught between the belt and the cam pulley, causing the belt to jump. Hence the addition of covers on later cars.
If you want me to check or photograph any other details, Kev, just ask.
