Thumbs Up 33 Bodywork

Hi everyone *Happy New Year*

Havent been around for a wile, nice to be back on the forum.

My 33 is in need of a bit of restoration ( the old problem around the fuel filler cap. Doh)

Can anybody point me in the direction as to where I can obtain a prefabricated repair section for the area around the fuel filler cap.

It would be relly nice to get the ole girl looking nice for the spring and the summer months.

Cheers Bob

Re: 33 Bodywork

i dont know where you can a repair part for it but if you take it to a good bodyshop they will cut the rust out and wield new metal in and the car will look as good as new.

Re: 33 Bodywork

If you find a repair section let me know as mine has done the same. I did see some time ago that they were available in Finland.

The muck gets between the shell and the 'cup shaped' pressing behind, they're only spot weled together, and then there's not a lot you can do.

If I can get hold of one I'll have it seam welded or brazed to prevent it happening again. After nearly 12 years of ownership I still enjoy driving it, especially in the summer, with the windows open and going into/out of a tunnel. If you have a 33 you'll know what I mean.
