to save blocking up the boxermeet thread with drivel about the weekends handbag throwing, i thought i'd post here the outcome.
easier to delete the whole thread rather than posts
it seems the thread i started "for sale/wanted chat" which would allow folks to find out if a part was suitable for their car (which was posted on the for sale thread) fell foul of the rules because it talked about parts for sale rather than the cars themselves.
it is also ok to talk about what polish works best, start a thread asking for cars for sale, generally talk tosh about anything other than technical talk but not it seems to allow the suds etc to be reunited with parts that may keep them on the road.
seems very odd to me but i don't make the rules, i have to respect that.
i know a lot of mods do the task for free and spend a lot of time doing that, well so do i!!
the question now is, shall i continue to do so?
it's incredibly short-sighted in my opinion to not want to bend over backwards to keep paying members happy and listen to what is needed to keep a forum thriving but it seems that the forum is bigger than the sum of its individual members.
i was under the impression that the members made the forum, not the other way around....
so, what to do now
it's touching to know so many would miss me, but for those messages i would have deleted my account on friday night.
i know the forum would carry on just fine without me, i'm just one fella who eventually gets wound up from time to time.
i would miss you guys terribly so maybe a chill pill is in order.
however as a paying AO member i feel that money isn't well spent. so they won't be getting any more of mine.
whatever the outcome.
listening to the membership and giving them what they require is the very basic ingredient of any succesful business, without that you have no business.....
