Interestingly, this type of thing started happening on one of the big mountain biking forums that I was a member of. The site was confounded by petty rules by the owner and his palls. Someone got frustrated and went off and set up a alternative site. Interestingly, the new site is growing quickly in new membership and the other old one has remained almost static in terms of new members. Draw your own conclusions. (that's probably enough to get me thrown off this site I guess, but at time you have to stand up and be counted.)

I am totally fine with sensible rules, that's fine - but what irks me hugely is pettiness.

It's the same deal in the world of Astro imaging forums
