Hi Liam and lads, nice thread!
i'm doing one of each, but for different reasons.
My 33 16v is sticking with the TB's, but junking everything else and will be running the MBE 956 i got from Fruitbat, to be mapped by Dave Young, Mek Motorpsort, an MBE wizard, and give SBD a swerve altogether, they were not helpful and ruddy expensive too.
This will get rid of all the stock restrictions, run through a pair ITG filters and stacks, and be mapped for a performance biased modified but daily car.
it will sound similar to carbs, be linear delivery, and very reliable.
My sud on the other hand, is going 16v on the german manifiold adaptors, and again breathing through ITG's and half radius trumpets. BUT, i'll be running a set of mint Dellorto 45's which were from BLS, so i'm confident these will be superb once set up!
but this is all about being a modified fast road retro car, maybe even the odd track day, so essentially they'll be set up to simply make the best power available from a stock 16v motor, so what i'll be wanting is snap throttle response and wide open performance, everything else will be a compromise, but only a slight one if set up correctly,
carbs are still very very good so long as chosen wisely, and set up correctly, and the sud being the car it is, i want it on carbs even if not the outright best performers,
i'll settle for that! ha ha!!
sadly you'll be way ahead of me in terms of actually fitting and running them, so i can't relay any more than that currently Liam,
so good luck whichever route you go mate,
keep it coming
