I have been looking for a good GT for some time and could not find what I was looking for so upped the budget and decided to look at a Brera instead.
After looking at Piston Head, Auto Trader and Ebay, I came across what I thought was a nice car. Black, full service history, 18" wheels with new tyres and brakes and also the all important recent cambelt with tensioner and water pump.
It was a buy now or place a bid sale so I placed a bid and yes, I received confirmation that my bid had been accepted.
My son was delighted as it was for him to replace his 147, so we contacted the owner. We agreed to pick up the car with cash two days later. It all went down hill from there.
First I received a call from the owner, the car had been hit in the supermarket car park and pushed the bumper and corner in, cracking the rear light. " I will understand if you want to drop out the sale now" said the owner. I replied that I would still come and look at the car and as it was insured, I was sure they would bring it back to as new condition.
To cut a long story short, three days of ringing and excuses why I can't see the car (in the body repairers, my brother is moving it, don't know who the insurer is etc, etc) has resulted in no other explanation other than he has backed out of the deal or sold it to someone else for a higher price and was hoping I would go away.
Well I haven't gone away instead I spoke to ebay about it. Ebay has now frozen all his accounts, Pay pal is considering the same when final results are known, and best of all ebay are going to invoice him for the commission they would have received (10%). They have also noted the car reg and will not let it be advertised for sale on ebay in the future. (should it just be resting somewhere in the hope of a bigger offer in the future).
So if you are wondering who and where this idiot is, well if I told you this post would be removed, so I can only give general info. bike670_0 (oops)
