Dropping the engine/gearbox out of the Minari
Tomorrow I'm intending to drop the engine and box out of one of the minari's.
I'm intending to drop the engine oil and obviously the coolant before I remove it. I don't think I need to drop the gearbox oil do I?
I presume once the engine/box are out I can remove the driveshafts and leave the hubs in place so I can still steer the car and keep it rolling? I've never dropped the engine on a front wheel drive car before, let alone a boxer engined one.
Which order should I be undoing bolts in? I'll remove the radiator, the hoses, the fuel lines, the electronics, the cables, the exhaust manifold and then I'll support the engine with the engine crane and undo the gearbox mounts. Then I can unbolt the driveshafts and the brake callipers, undo the engine mounts and remove the front cross member to drop the engine/box combo out. At least, thats how it goes in my head.
Is there anything fundamental I am missing here? Any advice/tips are appreciated.
