thanks for the comments guys, keeps me going
not a lot done yesterday, had a chilling day watching the motogp races and generally regaining some energy
well that's what i'm calling it anyway
did cut out the shape for the passenger side wing rail and weld the return lip on it. didn't drag all the gear down to the car though, gave the neighbours a day off
so this morning all refreshed i set about things.
chopped out the old wing rail before being collared by the fella across the road. thought he may have come to complain about the noise on a bank holiday but he wanted me to gring off some railings for him
anything to keep the locals on side
so back to the sud.
the passenger side "A" pillar didn't look too bad at all but thought it worth a grind at it to see what lurked under the sealant. glad i did, although it meant more work
rotten piece chopped out, new panel made up and welded in. same as usual.
the strut top had gobne in the same place as the drivers side did so a great lump was cut out and plated with fresh thick steel. then the inner wing area re-attached with fresh metal.
finally got the wing rail in place and welded to anything and everything i could.
then it was boxed in the same way as the other side.
a long old day again, gone 8pm before i called it a night.
but at last the welding is nearly
at an end.
just the spare wheel well to chop out and cover the hole with a fresh steel sheet.
the inner back panel needs a coupel of repairs when i can get at it with the wheel well gone.
few patches around the front screen, side windows etc.
make and fit the new jacking points.
door bottoms need a few repairs once the car is ready for the wings etc to be fitted to ensure good gaps.
will soon be time to start the bodywork prep and get some fresh stoneguard and paint on the underside
must say, i'm not unhappy that the end is in sight
