at last the weather has settled down a bit, made working much easier today.
must admit to getting a bit "what have i done to myself" for a while, would have been far easier to sit and watch the bike racing on tv
but we got going anyway, plenty of time to watch the bike seasons pan out later in the year
so decided to carry on with the welding rather than start sealing up what i've already done, will do it all in one go then.
passenger side sill seemed a good place to start, didn't look too bad at all.
so with the bottom sill portion and edge lip removed it came to a decision, remove the whole sill which was in great condition, or just repair what was bad.
seeing as the full sill was to hand it made sense to just chop it all off despite it being pretty good for an original sill.
usual suspects as far as what needed repairing, central sill and lip etc.
also fitted a couple of braces where the rear jacking point will go to make that area much stronger.
sill plug welded to both seams and then semi-seamed underneath for good measure.
just got the end to cap in around the rear arch and then make up the front pillar etc.
quite pleased with the days work, always a bit of a worry if you look at everything that needs doing but chipping away and getting sections ticked off helps to shorten the "to do" list bit by bit.
