Finally managed to fit the seat properly today, which made such a difference. I remember driving all the way to Cadwell in December, doing the track day, then driving all the way back again. Probably in the region of 5 - 600 miles, all with the seat in the wrong place!
I didn't want to adjust it in the rush to prepare for Cadwell as I had a feeling that it was going to be a job to fit properly. Clearly I was right! :roll eyes:
Gave the car a ready good spanking on the roads today. It was going so well - I just couldn't stop driving it.
Kept finding A roads and B roads and just went everywhere. The car pulls really well now after changing the distributor cap. Seems to run smoothly and it is almost as if it has gained horse power!
What I did notice that on damp long, large roundabouts when you push on, the car wants to break away at the rear. Is that normal?? I would have expected understear first, would that not be more normal? Tyre pressures are fairly low, as the car is light with 24psi at the front and 20 at the rear. Tyres are not worn, but I don't know how old they are as the came with the wheels I bought. It is when you hold it on a partly open throttle, turning into the roundabout, the front grips and the rear starts to twitch and break away. Any ideas / comments?
