The motor will physically fit.. it's the electrics running the fuel and ignition that will be the nuisance. If you had the whole 1990 car you'd be able to get all the bits you need off it but if you just have the engine I'd say see if you can get it running (all the extra bits you need) before you fit it.
no - earlier airbox wouldn't fit- there's hardly any room as it is!
Also - I'm not sure it's worth swapping the 8v twin carb for the 16v. Yes the 16v is ultimately quicker but the carb engine pulls better from lower down, sounds better (IMO) cos of the proper carbs and is easier to tune. Your money / time 'd be better spent getting the carbs properly sorted.
And that's all you have a argument for? it's only you who'd hear it, under the road noise. i swapped my 16v for an twin 45 dellorto 8v. mucho better. i can still travel at the same top speed as my 16v.

Incorrect! Besides who the hell are you trying to impress? Personally if I am driving a car it is about the enjoyment it can give me NOT poncing about showing off to other people as you seem to suggest.
