I have been buiding a sud race car for the past few years and have started campaigning it (down here in Australia) and have just been readin your discussing with the 33.
We find that the quickes boxer racers here don't actually have a sway bar at the front ... i don't have one at all and it doens't slow my car down at all.
this bigger thing is that my rear springs seem to move around in the rear end and i;m not sure how to secure them ... doesn't affect the handling at all just the clunk is disconcerting.
I brief run down on my car,
1979 ti sud
33 16v front end (including brakes) with custom made 420lb springs and custom valved travel limited koni yellows
sud rear end with custom 220lb springs and custom valved konis and rally hydraulic handbrake (just because i wanted one)
1600 cc worked, high comp, race cams, custom alum baffled sump and twin weber 44 idf's
Custom 4 into 1 side exit exhaust
Car lightened, extensive 6 point roll cage, sparco seats, lexan windows ... more needed to be done here,
Extenive bracing all around
Work in progress, but is fast ... I know it can go faster ... but Aussie alfa people don't believe in the boxer engined cars ... I want to beat them ... and i know i can!
