many on here will know that a while back i bought an Alfasud that was formerly a Class F raced car, and long story short, after some research and homework, and finally a visit to BLS Automotive to see Tom, sure enough, it appears that the famous Brunswick Green coloured block wasn't just for show, and Tom remembered the car and working to prepare both the engine and the "sharky" black and white racer many years ago.
whilst details of spec are impossible to recall, the common practice allowed by class f regulations was to simply have the engine blueprinted, and this was as much for reliability as it is for performance, but what was also understood was that most also ended up having some form of head work in as far as cleaning them up, any more wouldn't be cricket would it??
anyhow, those who have followed my Sud project will know that i have a 16v motor install planned, and now that the car has been taken off the road, it seems the ideal time to offer the BLS motor for sale as i won't be using it, and it will help fund the project further over winter.
So, it is a 1500 Ti, and as true testament to the BLS workmanship, i can confirm it is still very healthy indeed, using or losing no oil at all, no smoking whatsoever, and similarly no coolant leaks or loss either.
She pulls brilliantly through all the gears, and sounds very good indeed, no rattles or knocks, so essentially it is a good strong Class F motor, that can be dropped in and ran immediately.
Here it is running sweet and stable, and revving cleanly.
It is my first intention to sell it on its own, minus the backplate and ancilliaries such as dizzy and fuel pump, which you would already have anyway,
and also sell the inlet manifolds, drla 36 carbs, K & N filters, and what i think is an Ansa Crossover exhaust manifold as a seperate bundle too,
OR, if you need the whole unit and carb/exhaust bundle aswell i will put together a package price, but it will still be minus the backplate and stuff, but it will be a bolt in and run motor then, requiring no, or very little setting up to do if it stays with the currently well set up carbs etc.
I have left it installed within the car for now, just in case any interested parties want to come and see/hear it in the flesh before making any decision, but i can drop it out pretty quickly once someone wants/needs it removing.
please pm me with your interest, as i don't really want to list prices in this forum area, but i do want it to go to a good home,
so don't delay,
or it's on ebay!
