How much power can gearbox take?
I'm looking at doing a modified 33 race car, most of the time I believe they use the 1200 box as its closer ratio. Want to run it at about 220 Bhp, how would the gearbox and driveshafts cope with this?
Also what is the best way to achieve this kind of power? The base car I'm looking at currently has gas flowed heads on a 16v engine giving about 170 Bhp. I was thinking about going with a supercharger as you can get a rotrex one for only £1300, will cost a bit to setup but should be able to run 220 fairly easily.
I could put in some cams and throttle bodies instead but I don't think they'll give me the power I need? Don't really want to go down the AHM 1.8 2.0 route as its quite pricey.
