Not sure about that mate! ha ha!
Very healthy reviews of the chip, but then most contradict what you've just said about the map being the same up as far as 4k
i wish i had a chip reader/writer, i would like to take a good look at some of these compared to stock, but there is one thing that has sprang to mind reading the reviews and comments on here, and i'm afraid it airs on the side of suspicion again fella's, sorry!
that being that it has taken some time or clicks of the clock before the difference was felt or recogniseably "better" lends itself to the notion that the 33's bosch motronic system ecu has a self learn capable chip, yes?
if the answer is yes, then more suspicion arises, and its the human factor more than anything!
essentially if you fit a go faster part, and you're told that you will have more power/torque/acceleration etc etc, you already expect it, and you inadvertently will drive it harder to exploit and experiment that modification, and before you know it, you've convinced yourself that it has got better over the last 1000miles.
trouble is, if the motorinc system already has a self learn capable chip, how much better would it get if we all just went out and kaned its backside everytime you drive it?
do you see where i'm coming from fella's?
i don't mean to sound negative about these things, and to be honest if was staying with the efi i'd be the next guy to mess with one on my own 33 16v, but i'd love to get to the bottom of the varying results and fully understand the smaller details of both the aftermarket chips and the standard motonic capabilities.
for me, the jury is still out, but i do appredciate how they should work and benefit our motor's
