Dearly Beloved, we are gathered here today to answer some questions about putting an 33 8V engine back together.
So, I got my block back from the machine shop yesterday... my new 0,60mm oversize pistons fit in nicely.
Crankshaft was in for inspection, and they said it's in STD measures.
I got new bearings for the connecting rods, but am still trying to locate a set of main bearings.
Machine shop did a nice job (it's a good reputation place), but there was some very VERY fine metal residue stuck in some of the internal groves of the engine. I used a powerful magnet to remove the residue. Worked like a charm. Thou the residue was so fine, I doubt it would of done anything when mixed with oit over time. And yes, they did wash the block before and after the job.
Also I got a full set of OEM gasgets for the whole engine.
New exhaust valves I got last year (AE ones), and now I got a set of OEM intake valves on the way.
When these arrive I'll take the heads to the same machine shop for inspection... They'll straighten them out and install new valve guides.
I'll be using this thread to ask stupid questions about the rebuild, when ever stupid questions arrise to my frontal lobe.
Also please let me know of any usefull tips and things I should know related to the rebuild. I'd rather get it right at the first time
