Mk3 XRs should be and are about the same as a TI, all convertibles and mk4s should be crushed.

all mk4's should be crushed, errmmmm, yes, hideous junk, but they should have their hand held in the machine by the mk'3 brothers,
i'll make an exception for the mk3 rs1600i, which was probably the best of them, but still rubbish imo.

one thing, i was discussing with a fellow engineer just yesterday, whio was saying that he is glad as time goes by there are less and less fords such as escorts and Ka's etc around, they are rapidly rotting away and he does'nt patch them up half as much as he used to!
on the ramp was a 51 plate, sub 50k mile one elderley owner Ka, the sills, rear quarters, fuel filler area, roof, arches, and several area's of the floor and rear chassis, were rank rotten!!!
he said most folk think of a 51 plate as an old car now, so the manufacturers don't earn the reputation they should, or would have done in past, for having terrible build quality and cheap as chips components,
