Nice one mate
The car should had been made around 78, 79 I recon. Plastic bumpers were long after that, 83 I believe.
The Mk1 Sprint is getting extremely rare, so take good care of it.
Points you should look out for :
1 - Dont leave it in the rain or in very moisty conditions (my sprint usually rusted up in the summer nights due to high humidity)
2 - in front of your rear wheels inner wings, there is a rubber cover thats got an opening underneath.
That is connecting a hose to the pan above where the rear windows sit.
Make sure those hoses arent blocked, otherwise all the water will stay in and rot everything up.
I used to have a bicycle brake cable and pushed it in from time to time to unclog it.
3 - there are another 2 drains right under the rear hatch on each side. Make sure those are opened up as well.
4 - if the car doesnt have any major rust issues, take some of the interior out and waxoyl it !
Try to treat as best as possible: the inner side of the front windscreen frame, the rear pilars where the rear hatch hindges go, the rear inner wings and rear window buckets, the sills and A-pillars.
5 - change the oil frequently and make sure you give it a big service (timing belts, tensioners, water pump ) as soon as you can.
6 - common thing to fail if its never been changed will be the clutch secondary cylinder. Not very expensive to buy, but could be a bit tricky to remove the circlip.
Thats pretty much it.
dont worry with what I've told you, these are just things that you need to do every now and then so your Sprint wont get all rusted up and destroyed
