Thanks sprint68 having a code so quick relly helped those pads were fitted to allsots of stuff
Kev it was me that made it to the MITcar even looking a little worse for wear - the car and probably me
sprint_veloce- this sounds likely it managed to spin crud all over the new pads in teh 1 mile drive to the test station, I was on my back friday night with a car on spray degreaser.
But blagged an MOT pass with advisory hand brake just working enough.
Hi Lauren Long time not chat, I have never put a level on the engine, I'd be doubting its too nose down as you well know we have lots of gear linkage to consider!
It might just be that the last time they were looked at was 1987/8 and the car has barely moved in 5 years. I though they had used a contempory sud sprint package from 86/7 but may be the older units with inboard were cheaper.
Mitcar was a bit inspiring.
I've not delved into the manuals yet
Is the oil half shaft seal a pain or easy to sort?
Hi CC - that's easy; halfshaft oil seals. My perennial problem, although changing the engine and gearbox angle has helped a lot. What is the engine orientation like in the Clover? If its horizontal or nose down, it seems to promote more oil loss round the seals.
If your brakes are inboard then the gearbox must be 1982 or earlier, although obviously you could have a later engine fitted.
Good luck with the MoT!
