Very good advice from all of you, thank you
Iain, I havent changed my bushes yet mate. Was waiting to see if I could find a set of stiffer springs to install prior to taking everything apart.
I've got a complete set of powerflex bushes waiting for their turn, including the ones for the panhard rod. (Lauren is that the Watts Linkage you are talking about ? )
EauRouge, that's what I was trying to do, but the car didnt want to !
Shrew, cant go that route mate, otherwise I risk the car not been road legal coz it wont pass through MOT with such a suspension. I need to either present them with TUV documents or pay a government authorized mechanical engineer to make a report saying that its ok, otherwise they wont accept it
Was well winded up to go this route as well, but good thing I asked before doing anything.
Rodg, I really hope that a tight stiff in the rear is not what I need
I got your point though.
David, I have sent Intrax an email and they replied quickly with a price up of their kit - which by the way looks awesome and I think it would probably be the best upgrade available for my 33 suspension-wise.
You are right though, I did faint when I saw the price. I'm sure its worth every penny, but its just too much for me to pay at this point in my life
Lauren, thanks for the detailed advice
My 33 actually doesnt have a rear sway bar. What you are saying though is that the panhard rod works as a sway bar ?
What I've done is that I found a good spare panhard rod, which I will be machining to an adjustable one, but just to center my rear axle from side to side.
I've got that rear sway bar that I bought from Australia ages ago, which I will be installing at this point on my 33 - after taking some tips from BLS as well
I hear what you are saying, but I rather keep my front sway bar, to see the reaction of the car with the installation of the rear one - which is a heavy duty one.
So if I still get understeer, I should remove the front one altogether. Right ?
Is it safe to assume that to eliminate body roll, its about 30% to the stiffness of the springs, about 30% to the stiffness of the double action KONIS and about 40% on the sway bar thickness/stiffness/adjustment ?
