David, I'll get a set of 16" wheels and try them on.
Have in mind that I used a 10mm spacer to move my current wheels out of caliper clearance.
By what you are saying, I should be able to get a set of Fiat Coupe wheels then and use them on track days ?
If those clear out my calipers- which by what you are saying they should - I can tire them up like Sprint337 says with sticky tires and have them for track use only.
how does that sound ?
Stuard, my primary goal was to have a Fast Road Car
, which can also behave decently on track days.
I dont think thats too much to ask for ! If a MiTo or a GT or a new Spider that are slower than my car can do better times than I do, it means that I have A LOT of room for improvement.
Thats how I see it, but maybe I'm wrong.
Shrew.... I shall deal with you and your comments in person ... but for the record, if I wanted a comfy ride home, I wouldnt go for full stiff Konis at the back and look for stiffer springs
Try that in your 33 and let me know if you can change the station on your radio while driving
First time I tried full stiff all round with my Konis, I though I had parkinson !!!
I hope you realize that I'm trying to follow all of your suggestions here, because many of you have more track experience than I do.
Any advice taken from the experts will save me both time and money that I would spend fiddling around and trying out stuff on my own.
So in other words, yes, smaller wheels and stiffer suspension as suggested by David, yes to rear sway bar as suggested by Tom and Bryan at BLS, yes powerflex bushes as suggested by Nicolas and Greek, Iain and Bryan ,yes different camber and tow in as suggested by Lauren, yes centering the rear axle with an adjustable panhard rod like BigAl did on his, yes try without the front anti roll bar as suggested by Rodger, and yes trying a different driving line and increase tire pressures as suggested by Bryan !
So yes, 5 or 6 pages later, these are all the things I noted down from all of you and are highly respected and will be followed through
I already have most of these things in hand and need either mounting or adjusting, so no more money spent till this time.
I also found out today that someone on this forum might be able to help me with stiff racing springs as well ! So fingers crossed, the work will begin this weekend
Thank you all so much
