lol, I guess you could say it's a lot of work, but this is an ongoing project, keeping the car road useable and track use.
Eibachs are fine for road use but I think will be too soft for track use.
My plan is to have my Koni's fully soft for road and up to fully hard for track use, with AHM springs.
1. I am running with ser 2 struts, red Koni's and Eibachs at the front ATM, I still have my standard ser 3 struts, which I don’t want to hollow out and waste as they seem fine and a set of SW ones, which are much firmer than hatchback ones. I also have a spare set of AHM springs, I have 2 sets of differing poundage. I can build one up with the springs and my spacers to see how it all goes together for you.
you can shorten them in 2 ways, one way the stantion tube is cut, the other way is to have a spacer put in the inside preventing the stantion tube from fully extending.
I was also told that about making them top adjustable but I had mine done anyway, I will never be racing, just track days, stripping each time is a PITA.
2. Yeah I know lol but the standard springs compress up loads when they are loaded, the excess is there to take up the slack from the long stantion tube. I had the camber adjusting sleeves made up to decrease negative camber caused by the ser 2 struts, but they can also work for adding if I rotate them a bit. When the ser 2 struts were first fitted there was about -4 camber lol
I can get my engineering guy to make another set for you if you like, isn’t there a machine place near you that can do it, they are quite easy for someone in the know with the tools, unlike me
I wish I had the funds to quickly complete my project, I could then show you what it all looks like
I am sure MOT will be no problem, going the coil over route does the same thing apart from the springs being narrower.
I'm trying to achieve the same goal as you, have a car that is road legal but biased to track use, not fully tracked up.

Since then I have had a new wing, ser 2 side skirts, stripped out the interior, along with the sound deadening and fitted AHM springs on the rear, oh and an engine change lol
