Santa is early this year!!
well more to the point, i've been spending on the sud and treating myself! ha ha!
but don't worry fellow parents, the kids have their coal and oranges already ordered and on their way, and maybe a bonus walnut whip to share too!
Firstly, i left myself with a gap to lug.
Having arranged to sell Julian my Recaro Buckets already in the Sud, for use in his GT Junior, I thought i'd be using my saved 156 black leather seats to decorate the Sud's interior, but then, as the plan has changed to keep the Sud a little more track focused than initially conceived, i couldn't help but think that i'd dropped a bit of a clanger!!
the 156 seats are lovely, BUT, buckets or track and harness friendly they are not, so the search was on.
Ebay didn't really throw anything up that suited both my taste, my design ideal, well, actually thats slightly incorrect, the seats i did like, were a fortune, and far more than i'd got for my Recaro's!
Main reason is that i was looking for reclining buckets, to help folk (the kids!) get in the back of the Sud should the need arise, but then rethinking things, yet again, i think i can mount some fixed buckets on sliders that will allow me to let folk (the kids!) in the back without too much drama, so i rebooted, started again, and eventually came up with some beauties!!!
what do you think guys?
they are a pair of full competition fia approved Ridgard RS9's, and a little rare i gather?
when i spotted them, i could imagine them in the Sud immediately, so researched them a little, to find them an English handmade classic race seat, side mounted, and weigh very little for all the steel construction they boast, but better still, back in the day, they claim to have supported/supplied to cars in the Alfashop Championship! What????
Could it get any dreamier???
Well, yes, it could actually,
having found nothing more than pretty much a text advert, once i saw some photo's, i did a deal, but then when they arrived, i was much much more than impressed and pleased, they are awesome!!
I've not slotted them in the Sud yet, but i'm pretty sure they are certainly no bigger than the Recaro's, so shouldn't be an issue, just need to make some brackets when the time comes to land them on the slide rails.
one less thing to worry about, and if i'm going to be really fussy, i'll simply have my decent rear seats recovered in a matching leather,
what do you lot think??
