On Sunday the 10th I went to watch the final day of the New Zealand round of the World Rally Championship. Of course I took my 33, and even though I left home at 6am on a Sunday I didn't take the main highway. I had great fun on the empty winding open road sections of the B route instead, turning the music right down to hear the car. At one point the sun was rising and as I was crossing a bridge I noticed a bit of fog about. So I pulled off onto an unsealed side road to get some photos.
I've uploaded them and kept them at quite a large size (most 1280*960, approx. 150-200kb). As an example:
Some of the shots are quite alike because I wanted to make sure I got some which weren't affected by lens flares, or out of focus etc.
I still got some duds (GRNFLARE, GRNFLAR2, SPOILT1 and SPOILT2 being the worst) but overall I'm happy.
All can be accessed in the directory http://www.axys.co.nz/ben/alfa33/wrcsunup/
I got shots of WRC cars too, but there are no Alfas so that's off topic. Incase Rally NZ hasn't screened overseas yet I won't tell you who won.
When I arrived at the first stage and parked the car, a 33 owner from http://www.alfa-pages.co.uk/phpBB3/index.php
came up to me and complained I nearly mowed him and his friends down as I sped by them walking to the stage. Heh heh.. oops.
