is pretty much the response this car got from everyone who saw it coming back together at the BLS open day meeting that the Lincolnshire Lads and others attended a while back,
and not being a million miles from BLS, i have been able to see further progress and learn a little bit more about the history of the car and owner/racer, Ted Pearson, until the culmination of some years work, yesterday, when i had the very very good fortune to transport the car from BLS up to Cadwell Park where Ted and the Sud were booked in for a Javelin Trackday to finally be re-united as they were many many years ago, on track.
just look at this
the car was originally bought by Ted, when only a year or so old in 84 i think, and soon became his race car, and was used to good success too, with BLS taking care of the busy end then just as they have done for this latest incarnation of it.
Ted finished racing it, and sold it to a close friend, who changed it very little mechanically, but had painted it entirely yellow i'm told!
some years on, Ted saw his old Race Sud languishing at the back of his friends workshop, not having been raced or driven for quite some time, and realising that apart from the colour, very little of his beloved Sud had changed, so pulses raced, heart strings were tugged, figures were discussed in haste, and within a couple of days, Ted had bought back his Sud!
moving some years on to today, the car as you see it now
virtually entirely lightweight grp and composite panels, she's been on a tight diet more recently, the trofeo arches blended in superbly with custom moulded rear spolier and front splitter grafted in, the finish to the panels, attention to fit and details, paint finish is simply stunning
