Moaning Oh, #*&&&*%!!!$###@!!!

Can any one suggest where I can lay my grubby paws on a front strut swivel bearing (sits under the bottom spring seat) complete for my Arna? It's the same as a 'Sud or early 33 and is no longer available thru' official channels. The later bearing is instantly available as it's common to the 164, but it's way too big. They suggest that I put the later struts on the car but I've bought old pattern already and I'm loathe to start again. This is because the previous owner changed a strut ( the one that is now duff and started all this!)and has the later bearing fitted. I only hope that the spring seat is the original, otherwise I'll be looking for one of those too!. My S.A.D. appearance depends on this so I'm starting to panic! Apparently these bearings come in 5 bits, I have a set of needle rollers but nothing else. I'd love to find the whole lot together though! Second hand would be acceptable! I'll grasp at almost any life line right now!!

All info gratefully received!

Cheers Guys!
Arna Man

Since posting this I've been offered an '86/7 33 1.7 for bits . Anyone know whether this has the old or new pattern bearings?

If it's the same as for the Sud then I'm surprised they are hard to come by - I have a set in a box at home waiting to go in my Sud. The Sud type is in a metal jacket, the later 33 and 164 ones were a yellow plastic if I recall. Mine were supplied by Turin Imports in South Australia, but I'm guessing that's the wrong side of the globe for you.

They are listed on the justsuds website: http://www.justsuds.co.uk/pricelist....DRIVE%20SHAFTS
- see "Strut bearing kit - (metal type) x2", this should be what you are after?

It isn't long since I saw lots of Arna parts for sale somewhere in the net...

I'll see if I can get the URL from site history at me home PC

Thanks for the suggestion regarding justsuds. Am awaiting a reply from phil regarding the bit in question. Hopefully tomorrow!
