i'm chuffed to be the first to comment on todays racing from Cadwell,
after an encouraging qualifiying session that put Bryan and the beloved BLS 33 into 2nd on the grid, whilst actually just getting properly in the groove, a minor disaster occured, in that the rear gearbox tail mount sheered in half just coming down from Mansfield toward the first turn of the mountain!!!
the car was winched rather hurridly onto some chocks on the trailer, and the assessment revealed as above, so Tom and Bryan sped off back to the BLS workshop for a standard (none lightened) item, and the task was afoot to get it all done before being called down for part 1 of the weekends double header.
Tom and Kev were getting stuck in underneath the trailer and floor, everyone pitching in where they could, and the replacement tail piece went on as quick as possible, followed by the exhaust system and the engine jacked back up to secure the mounts,
and with about half an hour to spare, the car was gingerly tried for all gears on one of the cadwell estate slip roads, and all was good, Phew!!!
so down to the grid,
warm up lap completed,
the lights go green, and Bryan gets a flying start!
sadly, others did not get such a good start, and a coming together of 4 other cars behind Bryan, meant a red flag and restart.
although it had a dreadfull effect on some of those affected and damaged cars, it did not do anything to alter the masterplan of BLS,
another great start from Bryan, the car running superbly, and a commanding lead over the 2nd placed 147 GTA was kept throughout the race, so regardless of the efforts of others, not to mention the hard charging former Touring Car 156 of Mr Dymock, who was caught up quite badly in the first red flag incident but making up places rather rapidly, it was all to be in vain,
Bryan and the BLS 33 proved to be David amongst Goliaths yet again, winning convincingly!
Well done Bryan, superb mate, i loved every minute of the race, so much so i wouldn't be surprised if you could hear us shouting support from the clubhouse terrace mate!!
and well done Tom and Co', for getting it ship shape again in such time to make it all possible, stunning work lads!
I for one, can only hope and pray that tomorrows finale is a repeat result, but hopefully without the drama this time!
all the best lads, well done again, fan'flippin'tastic!!!!
