i underestimated the reaction to this little thread, by a big margin!
To all that ask, yes, i'm enjoying her very very much (i must find a name for HER!)
its one of those cars that you look for an excuse to drive, for no real reason, you just want to get in and go somewhere, sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly, it doesn't matter.
the real beauty is that aswell as a great, bargain of a car, the real reason for buying it was that it is on the road, ready to use, and drives so well i still can't believe it myself,
there are some scabby bits, mainly the front wings, one rear arch, a patch inside the rear hatch C pillar, etc, but none are serious enough to change my smile, and i'll deal with them all in time, but what i need to avoid is doing what i did with my 33, which is get so far in that it comes off the road, and due to my fussy nature and very, very odd work ethic, takes an awful long time to get back on the road,
so this time, its a case of use it, enjoy it, get out and about, improve it as i go on, and hopefully if i get the time to finish the 33, i'll then swap over and put the Sprint into full mod/resto mode instead.
i'm always gonna have a thing for a Sud, thats Kev's fault with VJM, but, for now, the itch is properly scratched, and its wicked!
as of now, i've tried my faithful TSW's on it, and i think she looks pretty good, photo's tomorrow hopefully and weather permitting, and next, thanks to Rodger and Kev, a pair of GRP front wings to sort the front end issues out, and i've ordered some arch extensions to have a play with for look.
the long term plan and idea, although she's an 88, i'd actually like to put some years on her, with a wide and low stance, cleaned lines from de-bumpering and possibly a deep front splitter, wheels to suit, and then mild engine stuff, exhaust, intake, and the like,
we'll see, but for now, enjoy her, and try not to get too hung up on a scabby arch!
i can't help being proud, and fighting the alfa corner, so i don't want to let the side down do i?
