Minari boiled over...
Ok guys, so I managed to actually take my alfasud 1.5 powered minari out for the first time on sunday after spending the whole day sorting out the rest of it. I was parking it in tesco car park and as I was reversing someone walked up to me and told me that there was stuff coming out from my bonnet. I stopped and popped the hood open and sure enough it had poured a load of coolant out of the overflow hose. Someone helped me push it into a space and then I waited until it had cooled down. My dad came out and brought some water with him so I put that in the header tank and drove the car home.
The next day I started checking things out, first thing I did was to get the car warm again. The engine runs fine and warms up, but when the car got to 100 degrees C (According to the temp gauge) the fan stil hadn't kicked in. Now on my car I've got an electric radiator fan so the first thing I did was check the fuses. All fine. Next thing I did was connect the fan directly to the 12v supply. It span straight up. So im thinking that the temperature sensor has gone, thing is, I dont know where it is! There is one on the radiator which looks like its quite badly corroded but there also appears to be one on the engine block. My question to you guys is that is there a commonly known failure and where is the temperature sensor?
I look forward to your views on the matter!
