Rodger, sorry i missed your call earlier, but at least i was up my neck in muck n bullets down in Alfa'ville!
I'll speak with you tomorrow sometime if thats ok?
also, i'm waiting for Dave's email on exhaust requirements if you're speaking to him at all, give him a gentle nudge!
Kev, you do have the luxury of lots of nice quiet bendy back lanes down your neck of the woods, thats true, but just as well, because the Lincolnshire herd are as bad as the Welsh constabulary aren't they?
no wonder me and Vecchio had to do laps of the Market Square rather than the green pastures! ha ha!
although, i was downright un-beatable (young, ignorant, and stupid!) on Ton Lane, Lambley, and the A612 to Southwell, much to the disapproval of the villagers and locals!
Johnboy - i'm on it!
Right fella's, as Johnboy said above, we had a bit of a chinwag earlier today, and a quick look round of available possible venues, within a reasonable and reachable distance for as many folk as poss.
One place has stood out as ticking most of the boxes, and so what do people think of Blyton Park, which is this
Blyton Park Track Days with Trackdays.co.uk
because there are so many of us with cars in build, renovation or repair, and to hopefully have a reliable weather window, we favoured the Saturday dates, 4th August, and 22nd September, both of which are Open Pit Lane, which gets you the very most driving out of the day possible, both are 105db limits, so no-one should have any worries with race prepped cars, and both are £139, which i think is pretty good for an open pit lane type day.
what do you reckon?
and to reinforce what i said earlier, and to make sure you all know i wasn't joking, this is the paddock area at my Newark address,
and seriously, if we do a Saturday track day, i will welcome all participants and travellers to come and pitch up a tent, camper, caravan, kip in your car, whatever you want,
come on Friday, anytime you like, we can have a bonfire, BBQ, bit of a knees up, and be fresh for the cockrels in the morning, where i can escort/lead you all to the track, maybe picking a few more up along route at a breakfast stop or something.
Saturday night, after the track, for anyone who wants to, we can return to mine, drop the cars off into the paddock, go 300yds down the road for some pub grub and a good saturday night session, retire to your chosen sleeping vessel whenever you feel like it, and set off for home fresh Sunday morning.
the paddock is completely out of sight from the main road (country lane), 200 yds away down the drive, hidden and obscured by trees and fields all round, and guarded by dogs, chickens and geese!
everything will be safe and secure, and i reckon we could have a ruddy good laugh!
so what are we waiting for????
