Hope everyone had a good Christmas.
I've had the Sud for about a week now and in that time, I've managed to put a couple of hundred miles on the clock (including an early morning blast down to East Grinstead
I'm smitten - what a great little car.
Whilst she's in pretty good nick overall, there are plenty of areas that are starting to need attention and plenty of evidence of previous repair. It would be perfectly feasible to enjoy the car and undertake a rolling restoration over time, but I'm leaning towards a complete 'nut and bolt' rebuild to bring this little mk1 back to glory.
Now this is something I'd love to do myself, but the reality is I simply don't have the time to undertake a project of this size. If truth be told, I also fall short in the skill department too - there aren't many of these things left and the last thing anyone needs is my amateur attempts at restoration killing another one off !
So - I'm looking for a recommendation. I have used a few italian specialists in the past... some very good, but none of them are right for this kind of job.
I intend to speak with Rusper and Sunnyside once they're open again, but if anyone can think of other specialists who would be suitable - please do let me know. (Also, if it's not breaking the rules of the AO forum, it would be good to hear your thoughts on the two I mention above - either on this thread or via private message)
All thoughts, recommendations and advice greatly received !
