Fitted my new mechanical oil pressure gauge this afternoon.
Had an adaptor to fit it at the filter with the sensor but the inside thread for the original sensor was too short!!
(could use a thick washer and lots of teflon)
Also the male M14 thread on the adaptor was too long (easily fixed by cutting a little off).
But it was about 50 degrees in the garage and was getting dizzy so I put it in the main oil channel for now.
Had a quick run around the block to check for leaks and alll worked very nicely. 5 watt lamp behind the gauge to light it up. Classic black - very cool.
BUT the last couple of weeks I've had an issue with the fuel pump I think.
Had to prime the carbs 3 times in the last 2 weeks. Would start, stutter and then stall.
Maybe because I'd had the tank on the empty side or maybe the fuel pump is not working that well.
have to get a pressure test done on it.
Could go electric with a nice fuel regulator and gauge built in.
Filled up the tank to max today. This should help the pressure as it doesn't need to drag all the crud from the bottom of the tank.
Filter looks clean though.
