look forward to hearing dave's solution rodger
and seeing you in the new year, hope i have something done by then
was due to go to a lincs ao sunday morning fry up meet which is good because i do like a proper greasy breakfast but with loads to do, been out the last few sundays and thick fog here i decided i'd spend the day at home with the family................then spent the day taking the 33 apart
all but done with it now though.
front end built back up with the arms/x-member/struts etc off the sud shell so it can still be pushed around.
the power steering rack has been refitted to the 33 so that's is not
going on the sud now
fuel tank/pump/lines/tank straps removed ready for fitting to the sud
exhaust all off, this will be used to get it up and running but a full system by shrew is the plan
wiring loom/ecu removed
front brake calipers, master cylinders, pedals removed as all missing from sud.
also i picked up a decent hatch from peter off alfasud-parts who kindly delivered it up to me coutesy of matt, 2 top blokes
it has only a couple of bits of rust to repair on the inside and the outside looks pretty good but i've yet to take the glass out or take any paint off. will be 100% better than the one i have though
couple of questions now though.
all on my real achillis heel, wiring!
my trouble is i don't really understand it
a hole in a sill or floor then you can see what you're doing, a wiring problem just doesn't compute
ok. the problems.
in the 3rd picture there are 2 wires that go to the coil, they are sperate to the main engine loom and sit in with the wiring that goes to the n/s lights. anyone know where they go to at the other end to save me tracing them all back?
4th pic shows the 2 wire joint that is the only connection that the engine loom isn't self contained with. everything else in the loom goes from the ecu, through a couple of relays and on to the injectors/sensors etc. this plug though goes into the cars wiring near to where the battery sits. where they go back into the engine loom they both go to the relays, one wire to each relay.
my thinking is they are -
1/ goes to the fuel pump so the ecu tells the pump to run. not chased this back on the car to find out.
2/ comes from the ignition switch to tell the ecu to start the car. again, not chased this back in the car to find out.
was pitch black when i finished after 5pm and thick fog back so didn't fancy crawling around anymore.
the 5th picture shows the engine loom i've removed with ecu attached (haven't left it on a cold concrete floor so don't panic
) and shows the 2 relays that the terminal in pic 4 eventually ends up at.
any ideas guys to save me searching and head scratching?
shrew, the 33 is ready for collection when suits you, or gez110 if he still wnats it?
just would like to get the wiring issues sorted out before it goes though.
is a rolling shell so easy enough to get on a trailer.
another car parked on the front lawn, at least it looks better than the fiat coupe i had on there last year
