With regard to putting miles on the engine and transmission I know its not quite the same but jack the front up and leave in gear with engine running?
Long pedal travel may be down to bigger calipers if you have stuck with the std master cylinder? As long as its hard when it does come on you should be ok? (ooeeerrrr missus)
A 264 GLE owned by my dear old Dad back in the 80's saved his life, the Police in attendance reckon just about any other car and he'd have been a gonner, blacked out and went under an artic unit which was taking a round about, sadly my Dad no longer with us but these memories nice when they pop up.
towbar arrived today for the 156 so will fit that tomorrow after work, jim has kindly offered his workshop for me to use so i'm not grovelling on gravel in the dark
had one last search through my shed to find the missing clips for the side skirts, thankfully successfully this time so the skirts and arches can go on now.
also found the 8 missing jubilee clips for the inlet rubbers, glad i'm not going completely mad and hadn't thrown something away!
not a massive amount left to do woody. some wiring, fit the front lights, some bits of trim to fit etc.
one thing i do need if anyone has a spare that they could bring along to cadwell........the plastic scoop thing that goes across the inner bulkhead that collects the water coming in through the bonnet vents and dumps it out the sides., sits on top of the heater box.
