after really struggling to still get my act together i did actually get a little done today.
after spending the majority of the morning looking at how to make the veloce bumper fit to a half decent standard and coming to the conclusion that whichever way it is cut, wings or bumper, it will involve a fair amount of work that will need the car a lot more built up than it is now to check for clearance on wheels as well as ground clearance.
so i came to the decision that it will have to be shelved for now.....a job for the winter
so the brave pills had to be taken agian, i really still can't get used to chopping into perfectly good panels
you can see in the first pic that the mounting position will allow the hot air from the cooler to escape under the engine.
after a bit of deliberating and trying different ways to mount the oil cooler without making a hash of it i gave in, and chopped a few more lumps out
not the pritiest of jobs but functional in that it's now mounted on 6 rubber bobbins to stop vibrations casuing problems and has clearance all around.
so as the veloce front bumper is on hold and having taken inspiration from teds' sud i have followed his lead and will be going bumperless front & rear. will just have the lower plastic moulding along the bottom with a cut-out for the cooler to get loads of fresh air.
last pic is of me trial fitting a few bits. AFM will bolt up nicely to the bulkhead cross-member as per the 33.
won't be using the air filter hosuing from the 33 though as the inner wing is a different shape on the sud. will be getting some pipework and a K&N typ cone filter and giving it laods of cool fresh air from the front, or maybe not even bother with a filter?
