gave the shell a good clear out this afternoon, all wiring etc out of the way.
first time i've hoovered a bare bodyshell
found some more rot under the battery tray, not exactly surprising really, couldn't be totally rot free
not a big issue as i will probably re-locate the battery inside the car behind the seats in a race style battery box.....or a home made one
will take a reasonably heavy item from high up front and place it in the centre of the car, low down. can't hurt
and will free up some space
will most likely be moving all the wiring/fuse boxes inside the car too.
also planning on bracing the area where the brake master cylinder clamps to the bulkhead, quite a floppy area that bit.
front floors are a bit rusted so will be chopped out and new ones made up, inner sill to floor area looks bad but is still pretty solid.
rear jacking points are amazingly good!
shouldn't take too long to get the welding done on this one
