I have to say a big thank you to a freaky off chance meeting of a bloke this evening,
sounds a bit wieird doesn't it!
anyway, i have had some bits n bobs, mainly tyres, wheels that kind of thing, on fleabay for a little while, as i need to clear some space for another project that i'm doing with my old man, his retirement project, an old mini of all things!
so, i sold a tyre to a fella, who came this evening to collect it, fab, even better when he turned up in a 156 JTD, ooh, i thought, a man with some taste.
"Ah, an Alfa" i said, "are you into Alfa's then", the reply was something along the lines of "Am I?"
turns out i'd ebayed the tyre to Luke off this very forum, so whilst enjoying a break from filling, rubbing and sanding, we had a right good natter about Alfa's and other cars, and i swear to god, whatever i've got, he's got, what i like, he likes, what ive had in the past, he showed me the t-shirt, you get the drift?
we could have been twin brothers, if it wasn't the fact that he was about 9ft tall, well groomed kinda handsome fella, and i'm, err, not! ha ha!
we even have the same Nissan's, and taste in Jap cars, it was really bizarre, but also real lucky.
whilst chit chatting, i was showing him the 33, and what i was hoping to do, then got onto the Veloce bumper subject and why i didn't think i was capable of doing it myself. He suggested a way of doing it that i'd not thought of before, and would simplfy the modification quite a bit,
so much so that i actually quite fancy a stab at it again now, i think!
i reckon i'd looked at all the difficulties in doing it for so long, that the obvious method had passed me by ages ago, and it took some fresh eyes to see it straight away.
he was very complimentary of the 33 and what i'd done so far, which was a quite a boost, so the confidence and ego being what it is, you might see the series 2 veloce bumper mod grafted on afterall.
so if you start seeing me hacking into it, it is very largely down to Luke,
cheers mate, good on yer,
