Reluctantly thinking of selling Ratt

For Sale is my Beloved Alfasud Ti.

It is registered as a 1.3Ti but has a 1.7 8v on twin 40 Dellortos. I am not sure what the car is worth but have it insured for £5k. It is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it I suppose.

It is a very quick and very noisy little beast and is very unique and well know in the Alfa Romeo forum and meets. It is a rare widebody Sud and 1 of only 30 made in 1984. there are only a handful of these widebodies left. The wings and bumpers, skirts and spoiler are fibreglass.

This will be a very reluctant sale.

MoT until 1st August 2012 and Taxed until 31st january 2012

Mileage is around 27K
Petrol and does around 25-35 to the gallon

List of Mods:

Resprayed 1 1/2 years ago
GTa paint graphics
GTa stickers (bonnet surpent and Corsa wing triangles)
Alfa Romeo F1 team window sunstrip (very Rare - very cool)
Factory fitted kit in 1984
Visioni wing mirrors (BTCC type)
low mileage Alfa Srint engine 1700cc 8 valve on twin 40 Dellortos
New Cambelts when engine was fitted and checked over
Velocity Stacks on carbs with Ramair dust socks
custom twin crankcase breathers
Ansa exhaust which is very loud
twin Ferarri airhorns
BMW Side repeaters
Morette Quad headlight conversion (very nice)
custom early Alfasud series 3 headlight surrounds
OZ period racing alloys x 5 ( I have centres and bolt)
Firestone Firehawks all round from memory and a Hankook on spare
new full clutch kit clutch 2010
new Brembo front Discs and new pads 2010
New rear discs and pads 2010
front Recaro Speed black leather bucket seats conversion (£500 each for seats each and mounted on Fiat Punto subframes £120 each custom mounted onto floor)
Momo harnesses and Momo shoulder pads
Rear Roll cage hoop (not bolted in as yet)
Complete interior weight reduction of 79kg.
Adjustable Spax gas dampers
Alfa 33 lowered racing springs front and rear
new rear trailing arm Powerflex bushes
new speedo cable (snapped)
new bonnet release cable (snapped)
new halford heavy Duty battery in 2010
new cv boots
new Alfa Romeo Milano Dealer number plates (Portsmouth)
Selecia Oil done 2010 (only done about 1000 miles since then)

There is bound to be things I can't remember and not listed as it is a very modded car indeed.

I was at Brrokland this year and went up with matty Morgan in his series 2 - You can see the difference in stance of a standard road Alfasud and a racepreped Alfasud. Mine is about 4 inches lower and this is brilliant in the wiggly stuff.

The video was when it had 1300cc engine in back then now 1700
Forward to 54 seconds in

I love the minimal and race look. It might not suit everyone but I love it. This car has been a labour of love and I have not skrimped anywhere. Since it was resprayed it has been knocked and scratch very minorly but still looks very nice (not perfect) This is a seriously nice Alfasud and very rare! Nearly all the other Suds for sale are getting snotty. This Sud is 100% solid and only ever been welded on the drivers jacking point where I jacked it up (woops) and across the front struts (metal fatigue not rust) You will get people chasing you just to look at it and reminising about theirs in the 1970/80's. It is one of the coolest Retro Cars you can own and cheap to run. I have some spares kicking around here but will pass a number for a friend who can sort out any part you'll ever require at cheap prices. She is cheap to tax as registered as a 1300cc and costs me £74 a year to insure on a classic policy limited to 3000 miles.

Was in Retro Cars Mag a few months ago pictured at Ace Cafe Awards Night. The photographer loved Ratty as she is known.

The car has developed a misfire since the MoT detune for emissions. All cylinders are firing but it seems a jet in the carb is blocked. Having it cleaned out and new lodge plugs beginning of week and another retune at MDZ Iteltek next week.

I am open to p/ex something interesting but a change of circumstances means this amazing toy needs a new home ideally. I have two other projects kicking about a Skoda 120RS and Alfa Arna Ti so would prefer a non-project. Again not sure what she is really worth and want £5000 ideally but will take offers - PM me if you want to speak to me and I will send telephone number - I am in South East Hampshire

Yeeeeahhhhhh Kevin... To the Rat Mobile....

Good luck with the sale. It's nice indeed. Do put GL in it. Replace them with NGK and it will run better.
