And so guys...it was a great driving day on Saturday! Iain, thanks for organising it and also for your hospitality!
Guys, you missed a great drive! We went on some proper drivers roads! Wish I took a few pictures but was too busy loving my car and the fabulous twisty roads! The only thing missing was a bigger convoy of Alfas (we were just two).
Iain's car was certainly impressive. It looked planted all the way. Mine wasn't bad at all either. It was great to drive my car with a bit of anger. I tend to go easy on it. I think it enjoyed the Italian tune up! We also dropped into Goodwood (race track). That was a treat - watched a number of favorites going through their paces (911, M3 CSL, Lotus Elise, TT, 205 GTI, Civic Type R etc). A good day!
Iain intends to organise another day like this soon - can't wait! His plan this time is to break up the drive with a barbeque at the coast or pub call (depending on the weather). There's also the possibility of a tunnel run - should be awesome!
Put your names down below if you're interested in joining in (places are unlimited so move quickly). Iain will suggest a couple of possible dates (which will generally be on Saturdays). Only rule is that your car should be an Alfa (or recognised derivative) with a boxer engine. Is that right Iain?
After this next run maybe we can look towards Gatwick for the next one. The Gatwick boys (Al, Pat, Mark) can plot the path and arrange the meet point. I hear there are quite a few good roads around there so should be fun.
So guys, put your name down below if you're interested in the next run (starting from Iain's place - Farnham):
