Looks like you've been busy mate....
It has been cold hasn't it, back to multiple layers of clothes!!
Been a bit warmer today Adi so had an afternoon of pottering
Thanks for the nice comments guys, am full on at work at the moment so struggling to get motivated on these cold nights but am doing my best to get out there
I'v scrapped the rotten stub axle, the other side wasn't so bad so i'v been able to save it along with one i got off rich to make a good pair, they where worn thin so i'v had them re-enforced and shot blasted ready for powder coating this week. It was only the lower torsion bar attachment that was affected so i don't think there will be any problems with wheel alignment, but thanks for the heads up
The paint i used for the rear calipers is copper coloured hammerite, i used it on my s2 so had plenty left to do these ones
The primer i'v used is Zinc Phosphate, you can get it in red or grey, i make sure to give the bar metal a good key with 400 grade paper before painting to make sure its going to stick.
Thanks mate, yeah am pretty chuffed with the progress overall but i must admit its slowed the past few weeks with this cold weather and the fact i could do with a break, its been pretty full on for the past 6 months!! and i'v got a set of 5.5x13 steel wheels from my s2 am gonna get refurbed nearer the time
A few photo's of the new petrol filler neck i got from john at just suds, interesting to see the changes in breather location from top to bottom of the neck. and some photo's of the stub axles after shot blasting and some plating
