Supercharged16v: Was the fibreglass reinforcement to stop it from vibrating from the bass? I have a few squeaks and rattles already but the suspension is quite stiff and 16 inch wheels + Sydney roads aren't a good mix.
It sounds like a great community, 5-7 Alfa's?!? I'd love to have to have the space and $$ to have that many cars, I'm not sure if I could stick to one marque though.
I'm an IT person by trade I support a gambling network so essential work for the dark side, we did have an office in Malta up until recently (not sure how close that is to yourself) Cars have always been a passion of mine and I used to have a circle of friends who were boilermakers by trade and could fabricate almost anything needed when off the shelf wouldn't quite do. I am at a point where with somethings I'm cursing not having a welder and a decent set of tools above the socket set I have. I have a hole in the exhaust before the rear box which is from shoddy installation it's never been welded across the top of the exhaust!
The car is running so much better than the day I picked her up, today was the deadline for the parts from the local Alfa workshop, No contact as of yet and the phone rang out when I attempted. I'm cursing myself for not ordering all the consumables from ebay when I had all the prices up, I would have saved at least half of what I have spent and the car would be running as it should, the exhaust and lack of back pressure seems to be causing some if not most of the issues i'm experiencing I think.
I was given the advice of taking it for a drive and letting things settle after the car not being used for so long and it was great advice, each time I take it out it grows on me more and more, though I might get some smaller wheels as I'm getting old!
As for tunes I actually put a CD in the pioneer CD player, it skips a bit and I had to set the bass to -6 to stop the farting, Unfortunately the CD was the first one my other half grabbed from her car and was Skrillex which has an amazing amount of bass, it was really rather awful but great inspiration to bin the lot and start again.
BigAl33 & Supercharged16v:
I'm amazed at these DLS speakers, I shudder to think what a retailer here would sell them for but I'd bet it's more than I paid for the 33! haha I was thinking some mb quartz or alpine speakers just because I'm a bit tight and this is a bit of a fun project that I'm daily driving to add some excitement to life! I'm even thinking of putting in normal wind up windows in the front, is this a possible option? both of my 1.5's had power windows too, one of them was so slow unless you revved the car it was almost amusing. I'd much prefer to have some decent speakers in the front and none in the rear, I was even thinking about finding some satellite speakers that will handle the ohm's of the car amp not sure if it's possible but was thinking I could fit them into the dash somehow.
Unsure of headunit yet, so many choices out there and it seems most brands have cheap crap as there main feature or I'm out of touch and you can get good features and outputs for not much coin.
Loving the fact this forum isn't full of ******* telling me Alfa's are expensive on parts
I'm finding them to be reasonably priced they just happen to be on the other side of the planet!
I'm begining to smell like an alfa again haha!
