Finally got started on assembling the car today.
Not much done, but given that I needed more time to clean things up than just install them, I'm feeling pretty good about the progress
First of all, I finally got the chance to install the rear hatch lifters I bought on September 2009 !
They are a tad longer, but no real issues with them, and they still work even though they did wet the rods a bit when I first pushed them down.
Rear hatch locks also installed and aligned .
Then, some trim at the back, a brand new badge which I bought ages ago, and a good pair of rear lenses installed on the tail lights - courtesy of Kev from 2010 !!!
Kev even sent me those colour bolts for the lenses and I'm so glad he did
Some wiring needed to be done before I could install the pedals with servo and master clutch and brake cylinders. I needed to route the cables under that area so it would be easier to do this first.
Dont panic, the brownish thing you can see on the inner sill, is NOT rust. It's just pieces of that brown insulation that are stuck on the floor. They go away with a sponge and some water
Pedals and pumps connected, heater unit flashed cleaned and installed as well with new rubbers
Radiator and fan also cleaned, flushed and installed :
Next I'll be installing the wiper motor in the front, and wait for the new rubbers for the front and rear windscreens to arrive before I can proceed with those.
Cant wait to install the brand new dashboard I've been saving for at least a decade !!!
