was less than 0,5L on the 5K change.
That is normal. 0.5 l in 5K is good especially as you said it's not in good condition. The boxers will always consume some oil.
Then i switched to Motul 8100 xcess sintetic 5w40 but i have tappet noise, we are around 15ºC max here at this time..
I wanted to know if i should go again with semi or beacuse of my engine wear i should go with Mineral 20w50
Be careful with the thinner oil (even though xcess is recommended). I don't know what happened to mine. I changed from motul semi 15w/50 to 15w/50 full motul 300v and tappet noise appeared.
I change to 5W/40 to help clear out oil passages to see if they were blocked but just got worse.
Now I''m with new camshafts, new tappets, new gears for the oil pump (due to bits of tappets and lobes sucked up from the oil sump!!!!
Maybe it was just time for my cams to be changed or maybe the change of semi to thinner synthetic which destroyed everything. Not sure.
With my newly built engine (almost ready), I'll be sticking to a good semi 15w/50 and see how that performs through both seasons.
Maybe even try 10w/60 next year. Heard good results about that. But with new oil pump gears I hope to have very good pressure unless my crank bearings are worn.
Didn't have the resources to remove the entire engine and crank. Just big end shells, rings, tappets, cams etc.
