Hi Roger, (Shrew)
I,ve fitted up a trofeo kit to the racer, the compomotive split rims that came with the car i would like to keep,
but they look terrible with 205 60 13 tyres on,side walls look to big and also there,s the issue of profile and flexibility within the wall, also to consider are the following issues,
,Trying to find a decent tyre in a reasonable price range i.e (A084,s and R888), i,ve come across a supply for 225 45 13
,Front rims would require a 10mm spacer, the rear! if you recall, have bespoke light weight hubs and bike calipers fitted, lucky they are fitted to the axle with a bespoke spacer and 4 high tensile bolts, these will need to be altered, the rear track is 20mm narrower than the front!
, 3 of the compomotive rims came with 2, 1/4" outside rims and the other with a 2, 1/2" outside rim! (Modified cars
) i have found a source of 2 " rims which would give me a couple of spares, obviously this would narrow the rim.
, The car is very low but can be adjusted, anything bigger than 13 with the 205 60 13 tyre,s are catching, can,t help but think, should i bite the bullet and go for 15,s modify the arches and if i want to increase power at a later date i have the capacity for larger brakes etc. this takes me to the question of using spacers and packers, should i just have a bespoke set of rims manufactured by image, compomotive or revolution? (195, 55, 15 tyres appear to be easy to come by).
All problems and dilemma,s i,am sure you encountered Rodger with your build.
Any suggestions or anybody with any interesting wheels they would like to part with, would all be considered and appreciated, on a long shot, anybody knowing of 13" compomotive 18 hole split rims, either inner or outer in various sizes would also be considered.
Thanks for your time gents.
Will update the build thread shortly.
