i guess the only way to find out is to try myself as I see some have had success and others not.
Now the height of the original trumpets are 2.5 inches, the carb linkage is just below this, so the filters featured would need to be attached with an extension to clear them, as I see in the photo.
I guess from a piece of tin or aluminium.
Either the filters or hole in the air box are going to suck in the hot air, but while on the move is this really an issue?
Even while stuck in traffic not much cool aie gets through between the narrow radiator gap with the original set up.
What about all the muscle cars that have the circular filters under th bonnet on top of the engine?
My bother in law here has a Ford Cobra which generates huge amounts of heat, oil cooler and water radiator, Holley carbs but again with the air intake right on top of that heat generating 450 HP engine.
Also his 1 carb sud has a bolt on filter on top of th engine.
Again maybe just try and see what happens.
