Stuck 1.7 8v Jetronic hall sensor distributer
I had an accident with my Alfasud, which has a 1.7 Jetronic engine, after removing the engine & reinstalling it again due to needed body work; the engine is not starting at all, basically I don't have ignition spark coming out of the coil, I tried everything, tested every single wire connection; however, still no spark at all!!
I started thinking this way:
1.the main ECU: which has the MAF gate, when disconnected; the fuel pump won't run at ignition switch at ON, when I reconnect & try again, the fuel pump works perfectly for couple of second then turns OFF as usual, which I concluded to mean that the main ECU is working fine!
2.Ignition ECU or the Ignition Advance ECU (noted as N23 in the manuals): I doubted it in the beginning, so I replaced it; however, with no luck at all, so remember I do have two of those for testing!
3. Now for the worst one, the ignition module: when I first had the engine, I didn't have the original BOSCH, so I replaced it with another one I found was of an old engine, as far as I remember it was a VW Golf MKII (I'll find a post by me around asking about it) it was working just fine by disconnecting pins 5 & 6, & the engine ran for a while with this setup!
Now whatever I tried, I can't get any spark from the coil, I even tried 4 different coils!!
So what I was thinking of is MAYBE the distributor is not sending it's Hall Signal!! So I thought I might replace it with the old mechanical one, getting rid of the whole ignition ECU!
I don't know if that would work, However it was like a last resort, until I get around this some other time!
I can't take off the distributer, I already unscrewed the M10 & it's there as if it's a part of the block!!
