Got an annoying leak on the brass T connector where the heater pipe joins the left expansion tank. Should have bought some new jubilee clips or better rather than using the old ones.
Stores were closed by the time I noticed it was dripping slightly.
We're expecting a sharp increase in temperature this week so should be a good time to finish things off, add oil and fire her up in a few days, or for sure next weekend.
Was freezing this weekend.
Those 5/6 bolts holding the front of the oil sump on were a real pain in the behind!!!! No room for a socket, barely your fingers (and when your fingers are frozen solid!!).
Because of the front stabilizer bar. Maybe this is easily removable for better access??
I didn't investigate.
Also some bolts are impossible to torque to specs unless you have a mini torque wrench, such as the rear bolts on the carbs. I just tighten these until they feel right.
Also the bolts on the exhaust manifolds are a real pain due to the shape of the tapering pipe.
