Holey pistons Batman
Now then gents I had a look through a few of the threads on here and tbh I'm a bit embarrased to be asking silly questions.
Anyway I got round to putting a new dizzy cap, rotor arm, plugs and leads on me ickle 1.3 project hoping this would fix the miss it had. It didnt.
I'm a bit worried I could have a holed piston as this happened to a sprint my dad had bought years back.
My reasoning for this is that with then engine running and the oil filler cap removed I get puffs of exhaust gas comin from the neck. surely the rings couldnt be that worn?
I may be wrong but all it could be after that is timing?
I'm going to see if I can borrow a compression tester somewhere, and go from there.
Does anyone now what sort of pressure I should be getting?
I realise these are probably schoolboy questions but you lot are my best source of info.
any help is much appreciated
