picture time, and I've got some questions for the Sud specialists
I want to change the complete front suspension, steering arms, cross member etc because I was never able to fix the geometry of my Sud ! Makes me believe that something is bended underneath. Although this is the second time I'll be changing the crossmember and the third time I'll be changing the shock absorbers, this time I'll also be changing the steering rods from a car that I know was ok.
To start with:
First three pictures are cracks on the body ! Number three is especially dangerous
I just hope that welding them will keep them from cracking again.
I'm doing a transplant of engine and gearbox from an S2 Sprint with inboard brakes.
Picture number 4 is the brake disk that my Sud has got on now.
Picture number 5 is the brake disk from the doner Sprint.
As you can see, there are two different types ! I know the gearbox of the Sud had been changed from previous owner a couple of times - not from someone who cared. Is the box thats now on my Sud the right one ? Its a 1984 Sud Ti.
Why do I think I've seen this pattern before on a Mk1 Sud ?
Also, I was talking to Kev the other night, trying to figure out a riddle ! I will be changing the complete rear axle of my Sud as well, together with springs and shock absorbers, as the one I've got on now seems to be bended for some reason !
Rear panhard rod riddle:
The rear axle I've got on now, hasnt got a panhard rod ! The one I want to put on, has it ! I asked Pavlos, who owns the exact same car from new and has never been messed with. He checked his Sud for me and he doesnt have a rod either
Should I put the rod on mine or not ?
