Tell us the year of manufacture or the colour of the front and rear indicators (or post pics of the car!).
In the series 1 models (orange indicators), the 1.5 was the top model and you could get either a 1.5 QO (gold cloverleaf = luxury, single carb) or 1.5 QV (green cloverleaf = sports, twin carb).
In the series 2 models (clear indicators), they released a 1.7 QV as the top model and the 1.5 TI (for 'turismo internazionale' or something, twin carb) became the next level down.

Just getting it back up to factory performance will probably be enough of a 'mod' on a carby boxer Alfa of this age. You can lose performance through poor carb adjustment for example. If you can get ontop of all the car's problems to the point where you're considering actual enhancements, you're doing well. Start by swapping bits from a 1.7 model - the exhaust system (headers are larger diameter), engine, carbs (40mm vs 36mm), vented front disc brakes etc. That should keep you busy for a year or two..
